ZEISS ClearView lenses

Not your average single vision lens.

  • Woman wearing ZEISS ClearView glasses faces mannequin wearing glasses.
  • Looking for reading glasses or distance glasses?
  • Don’t want to choose between good vision and good looks?
  • Do you need new glasses fast?
Look no further. Excellent optics. Beautifully thin and light lenses. Full UV protection up to 400 nm. ZEISS ClearView offers outstanding value compared to most standard single vision lenses sold today. Popular prescriptions can be kept in stock – for sharp vision without having to wait.

Our standard is way above standard.

Affordable and available quickly, standard single vision lenses are a popular choice. You can even buy these type of glasses online.
But there's a catch: Conventional single vision lens designs often compromise good optics to make them flat and thin enough. The result is clarity through the center of the lens, but blurred vision through the sides.

ZEISS ClearView raises the bar for pre-moulded single vision lenses – so you don’t have to compromise.

Bye-bye blur.

See clearly from the centre of your lenses all the way to the edges. Our revolutionary ClearForm® technology utilises freeform optical design for greater precision over the entire lens surface.

Bye-bye fisheye. Hello, good looks.

Even with a high prescription, you don’t have to deal with heavy glasses or a funny fisheye effect. ZEISS ClearView single vision lenses are designed to be very thin and flat.

Thin lenses provide a more aesthetically pleasing look, while flat lenses provide better optical quality. They also help reduce the overall weight of the glasses, making them more comfortable to wear. With thinner, flatter lenses, you can enjoy improved vision and a stylish look.

Great value – without the wait.

One benefit of what we call stock lenses is quick availability. While ZEISS ClearView lenses can also be made to order, optometrists can keep common prescriptions in stock. That means glasses for distance or close-up vision could be ready in as little as one day. ZEISS ClearView is your priority lane to excellent optical performance.

NOW: over 700 points of optimisation.

BEFORE: only 1 to 5.

Freeform gives us freedom.

Freeform technology – once reserved for bespoke lenses – is incorporated into the ClearView design in a complex mould-generating process. We can optimise over 700 points of the lens surface. This ground-breaking innovation makes our “standard” single vision lenses look and perform better than ever before.

With only one free parameter, any acceptably flat lens results in peripheral blur for the wearer.

The lens can be flatter with only five free parameters, but optics would still be compromised.

Let’s recap.

Anything else to add?

Consider these lens ingredients for your perfect next pair.

ZEISS ClearView corrects your vision, but you have a few more choices to make. These factors are worth considering before you buy your next pair.

Your eyes

ZEISS ClearView is a single vision lens. This means you can consider them if you are either short- or long-sighted. Your optometrist should confirm if it’s the right lens type for you.

Your lifestyle

ClearView could be a fast lane to excellent vision and thin and light lenses. But if you’re looking for truly individualised glasses to suit your daily life, have a look at ZEISS SmartLife or DriveSafe single vision lenses. They can be crafted to your needs.

Your face & frame

While ZEISS ClearView has raised the standard of pre-moulded single vision lenses, they won’t be customised to your unique frame and face. Depending on your prescription and needs, your optometrist might suggest a made-to-order option by ZEISS.

Eye protection

Full UV protection is a given in ZEISS ClearView lenses. They’re also available with ZEISS BluePro for built-in blue light protection and self-tinting PhotoFusion X if you want clear glasses and sunglasses all in one.

Thickness & weight

In addition to the optimised lens design, ZEISS ClearView glasses are available in a wide range of indices to make them as thin, light and comfortable as possible.

Durability & care

A durable anti-reflective coating is essential if you want good-looking lenses that are scratch-resistant and easy to clean. While many standard single vision lenses neglect this important ingredient, your ClearView lenses will be reinforced with a ZEISS DuraVision coating of your choice.

Any questions?

  • An outstanding choice for anyone who is short-sighted, long-sighted or has astigmatism and wants thin and flat single vision lenses with excellent optics – at an excellent value. If you are looking for a more personalised option and truly tailormade optics, ZEISS SmartLife – our very best single vision lenses – might also be an option.

  • ZEISS ClearView lenses are designed using a sophisticated freeform optical design and made with ZEISS’s state-of-the-art ClearForm® technology. They provide clear vision from the lens centre to the periphery while being much thinner and flatter – with zones of excellent vision clarity that are an average of three times larger than standard single vision lenses.1 They also protect your eyes from harmful rays with integrated UV protection and optional blue light protection.

  • Some single vision glasses like ready-made readers can be bought off-the-shelf in local pharmacies or even grocery stores. While they’re a useful quick fix for reading up close, their optics tend to be rather basic. If you want high-quality reading glasses or single vision distance glasses without having to wait, ask your optometrist. Some single vision lenses, including ZEISS ClearView, can be pre-manufactured and kept in stock. This means the lenses can be cut, fitted to your frame of choice and ready to wear in no time.
